About the Network

AS213286 is a non-commercial, research and education network — the only independently operated network of its kind in Pakistan.

⚠️
Research & Education Only. This Autonomous System is operated exclusively for educational research purposes, internet protocol experimentation, and furthering the understanding of BGP routing, IPv6 deployment, and network engineering. It does not carry commercial traffic and is not an Internet Service Provider.
🎓

Educational Purpose

Built to study and demonstrate real-world BGP operations, IPv6 deployment strategies, and modern routing architecture in an operational environment.

🔬

Research Platform

Serves as a testbed for internet routing research, WireGuard overlay networks, RPKI validation, and inter-domain routing policy experimentation.

🌐

IPv6-Native

A fully IPv6-native network announcing 2a10:2f00:131::/48, demonstrating practical IPv6 deployment across multiple continents via encrypted overlays.

🔗

Open Peering

Maintains an open peering policy at multiple IXPs across Europe and Asia, contributing to the open interconnection ecosystem.

Peering Policy

AS213286 maintains a generally open peering policy. We welcome peering from networks of all sizes.

🤝 General Policy

We operate an open peering policy. We are happy to peer with any network that meets the following requirements:

  • Maintain a publicly routable ASN and at least one registered prefix
  • Have a valid entry on PeeringDB
  • Maintain valid RPKI ROAs for all announced prefixes
  • Operate a 24/7 reachable NOC email address
  • Do not point a default route or use our network for transit
  • Do not announce prefixes longer than /48 for IPv6

🔌 Peering Locations

We are currently present at the following IXPs and welcome bilateral or route-server peering:

  • LOC-IX Düsseldorf — AS202409 (IPv4 + IPv6)
  • BGP.Exchange Düsseldorf — AS24381 (IPv6)
  • BGP.Exchange Singapore — AS24381 (IPv6)
  • BGPTunnel Frankfurt — AS209533 (IPv6, tunnel)
  • Route64 Frankfurt — AS212895 (IPv6, VXLAN)

📧 Peering Request

To request peering, send an email with the following details:

  • Your ASN and organization name
  • Desired peering location(s)
  • Technical contact email
  • PeeringDB URL

Contact: noc@as213286.pk

📈 Routing Practices

  • We filter inbound routes using strict RPKI validation
  • We use IRR-based prefix filtering where applicable
  • We tag routes with BGP Large Communities for origin tracking (213286:1:* for origin PoP, 213286:2:* for origin region, 213286:10:* for peer ASN)
  • We announce only our own prefix: 2a10:2f00:131::/48
  • Max prefix limit recommended: 10 (IPv6)

Network Policies

🛑 Abuse Policy

AS213286 has a zero-tolerance approach to network abuse. This network is operated for research and educational purposes only. If you believe traffic originating from our network is abusive or harmful, please contact us immediately.

  • Abuse reports: abuse@as213286.pk
  • We acknowledge all abuse reports within 24 hours
  • Verified abuse incidents are mitigated immediately
  • We cooperate fully with law enforcement requests via proper channels
  • Repeat offenders are permanently blocked

🔒 Security

We take network security seriously and implement industry best practices:

  • RPKI ROAs are maintained for all announced prefixes
  • Strict firewall policies on all routers (default-deny)
  • SSH access secured via public key authentication only
  • All inter-router tunnels encrypted with WireGuard
  • BFD (Bidirectional Forwarding Detection) enabled on iBGP sessions
  • Security issues: noc@as213286.pk

GeoFeed
